If you are feeling overwhelmed, frustrated or alone in caring for
an aging or disabled family member or friend, know that respite
and support are a phone call away. Both you and your loved one can
enjoy a more relaxed and higher quality of life.
We can provide you with referrals to other organizations in your
community that provide specialized services to meet your unique
caregiving needs.
Support groups and counseling services are available for caregivers,
family members and are open to the general public. Our professional
staff work with caregivers one-on-one, and in a group setting, providing
support and education on a variety of issues including health, caring
for an aging or disabled person, and many other difficult topics.
Support groups are offered
at Mt. Diablo Center in Pleasant Hill the third Wednesday of each
month from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. Bedford Support groups are held at the
Antioch Senior Center (415 W. Second Street) on the second and fourth
Wednesdays from 1:30-3:30. These support groups are co-sponsored
by the Alzheimer's Association.
